Red Button at the London Book Fair!

The London Book Fair has been a fixture in our calendars for over a decade, but this year was the first chance to fly our own banner for Red Button Publishing.

Held at Earls Court exhibition centre, the book fair is one of the key dates in the publishing calendar. In previous years hall 2 was home to the smaller publishing houses, while the big players dominated the main hall. This year hall 2 was where all the action was, as it was home to the Digital Zone. It was here that we spent most of our time and had some of our most interesting meetings.

Among others we met and chatted with some of the movers and shakers in digital publishing, including Amazon, Kobo, Byte the BookBookmachine and Jelly Books.

This year also saw a greater number of writers in attendance than ever before. The talks and seminars were packed out. We had a great chat with Amazon author Mel Sherratt, whose success has been truly inspirational – a powerful example of how digital publishing can help new writers reach an audience.

As well as pounding the aisles at the bookfair, we also swung by Westminster for a meeting with Johnny Rich, the author of our first book, The Human Script, which was published on Monday.

We had a lot to celebrate. Just a day after its release, The Human Script hit the top 100 literary fiction on Amazon!

Top 100 - April 16th 2013

Thanks to everyone who has bought the book so far. If you haven’t, you can find more details and links to buy on Amazon and Kobo here!
